Morrette woes (again) bug wrx
Ok, so this morning (5.30am) went out to my car and heard a buzzing/squealing sound, I've had issues of this nature before so instantly new it was the relays on my morrette headlights. Ignition on, lights on buzzing stops off to work I go, parked up in the car park ignition off, keys out a few seconds later buzzing resumes. After messing around a bit I found that putting the light stalk forward into main beam stopped the noise, so I left it that way until dinner.
Upon further inspection at lunchtime I found 2 wires on the drivers side morrette loom that weren't evan connected to anything but they have been this way since I've owned the car so I ruled that out as a cause of the issue, though I am curious if these are meant to be connected to anything? And now the main beam is not working either. So now without main beam I'm in a worse position than I was this morning. Thanks for reading and any advice is appreciated.
P.s what is the best way to water/damp proof electrical connections?

Not sure what the actual problem with the lights are fella but I always use some good switch grease on any connections I come across including the headlight connectors. Don't have it at hand right now but something like this will be fine:

And water-proof the relays by running a seam of epoxy glue etc round the gap between base and cap.
I've not had problems with connections, I solder all the ones I make, but a quick squirt of WD40 does wonders...the clue is in the name "Water Dispersant 40".

Found this lurking in there today

That's what I thought but upon further inspection they actually go into that circular plug with all the spade connections seen above, which I assume is the standard wiring loom for the headlights.
I think so, so maybe those are surplus?
I would be inclined to swap the relays for new, see how you get on.
I had one rust solid inside, hence my advice to seal them with epoxy glue etc.

Yep, replacing that fixed the issue for now, il look into some sealant to try and stop the water ingress, I've wrapped the seams amalgamating tape for now, those wires will remain a mystery then, for a STI loom maybe? Thanks for the help an advice as always
