WRX 02 Headlight Issue
I have looked through the forum but can't see a resolution.
My WRX 02 failed mot because light are not working properly.
When I put the parking light on they work fine, which is one twist of the right hand light stork. When I twist light stork the 2nd time my light's don't come on, but the blue full beam light on the dash lights up. The main beam light comes on and their is a buzzing sound. I can flash cars fine (full beam) but if I twist the light stork my night time driving lights don't work,
A mechanic replaced the bulbs but they blew. When he did a meter check the voltage was low. Below the 12 volts. I think it was around 4 to 6 volts.
The mechanic has said he can't diagnose the issue as electrics aren't he's strong point.
I have not got standard lights, I have the Morrete looking lights which are common on Silver WRX 02 Bugeyes. I think they are a standard upgrade as I have seen plenty of Silver WRX Bugeyes with this upgrade.
Any ideas as I can't pass MOT with the lights not working properly.
Thanks C Baru

The Morrete's use a system of relays to split the H4 bulb connection to operate both lights. If you can find the connector that connects to the original H4 connector, you could try fitting a H4 bulb to see if the issue is with the Morrete wiring or the car circuit.
As above, or go on yell.com for an auto electrics place.
Note: please use the following terms when describing lights:
"Sidelights"....small wattage bulbs used for parking in dark places etc, often part of the headlight now.
"Dip beam"......headlights set to use when driving round town, or with oncoming traffic.
"Main(high*) beam.....headlights set to see distances out of town, no approaching traffic.
*...USA term.

The auto technician said that the wires could have frayed or got damaged over time. He ran a cable from the good "Dip beam" to the broken "Dip beam" and all worked fine. Its a temp fix which helped pass my MOT. So for the moment I can drive around legally at night.
Thanks again
