hi, hope this is right section for this.

ive had a look round on here to try sort a problem i have with heater not working but all the other problems are slightly different to mine.

the heater does not work at all, when i bought the car a few week ago the heater worked briefly then stopped altogether, now i have checked both fuses under the drivers side panel and i can hear a clicking behind the dash (relay noise i think) i then un-clipped the connector to heater motor and used a voltmeter on it to check for a reading (but i am a novice with a multimeter so moved onto one of those sharp pointers with the earth wire and buklb on)
anyway, when i had the connector off and the light probe into the different wires it didnt light up but sometimes it did now i then moved the heater power **** and it light up then went off as it should but then when tried again it didnt light up at all

anyone got any ideas on this? car is a 98 impreza wagon

Heater? You mean the heater fan?

They have a habit of burning out the resistances that control the speeds.

Think it was a dodgy wire as we wired a switch into the connector to cig lighter now it works
