Central locking

Hi, when I lock the car with the fob it locks all doors but they reopen again straight away, I have to arm the alarm then lock the car manually, can anyone shed light on the possible causes for this please.

I had a similar thing happen on an old escort I had several years ago... Think it was something to do with the wiring going through the pillar into the door.
