Default headlight adjuster motor

Hi,

Adjusted headlights for a heavy load in the rear tonight to find the NS not moving. OS is ok and moves up/down all 0,1,2,3 positions.

Car is a Nov 1996 MY impreza turbo 2000.

Can the motor be replaced or do I need to change the whole NS headlight.

Trying to find the difference between pre-facelift and facelift headlights. Read that there are differences in bonnet line and grill.

Can anyone explain the difference, because if I need a replacement headlight I would consider spending the money towards getting crystal headlights but only if they fit.....

I'm not sure what the problem might be with the headlight, maybe the motor like you say. Also check the connector behind the headlight itself. There's a separate connector for the adjuster motor.

As for fitting crystal facelift lights, they fit no problem. I fitted them to my pre facelift 97 car.

First thing to check is the ball and socket fitting on the arm of the adjuster motor as this can come adrift and is easily relocated. If it has come adrift there may be an underlying problem. The motor can easily be replaced if it is u/s as far as I can remember.

I have uploaded three pictures of the headlights to my profile "albums" titled headlights.
This is the only way I have been able to post a picture for people to view at the moment.

Can these headlights be replaced with crystal facelift lights are they the same and have no issues.

With refitting my grill and the bonnet line being the same.

To post pics, get them hosted in a site like Photobucket, then, when posting, click on the image icon and paste the photo url from that site into the box that opens.

Yes, you can use later headlights, but as you stated, the bonnet/grille shutlines aren't perfect.

Try looking at photos on Google images or on here to see if you can live with it.
