hawkeye original headunit
Hi
I have an original headunit in my car but everytime i give it a bit of right pedal the headunit switches off and cd ejects and looses saved stations.
I would think it was a power/ earthing problem but cant see anything obvious. I was going to change the headunit but not sure what to put in its place and if there is a problem??
Other thing I was offered a touch screen double din job out of a classic are the connectors the same or would i need a different one?
Many thanks
in advance

hmmm sounds odd the unit switches off and ejects, have you checked behind the unit for loose wires? as it sounds like the perminent live is disconnectiing. Or could just be a fault with the unit inside.
I believe the hawkeye is a double din unit so the touchscreen thing should fit no probs. failing that if you are unsure about fitting there are plenty of places which fit for a small fee. Or even get a radio from Halfords, I was looking the other day and they had a double din Alpine cd with bluetooth and usb and everything for £129 i think!! and that may even include fitting!! lol
sorry cant help for certain on the problem but maybe time for an upgrade lol
Cheers,
Kev

Yeah I was big into ice when I was a lad lol. I have had head unit out and all appears okay. I have been looking on ebay as no halfords or any descent shops that sell head unit on the island. Really fancy a dvd job for the wee boy with remote.
