Duff side light bulb

Open bonnet.
Get a Phillips scredriver and undo the screw on top of the headlight.
Push and pull (and swear a lot) as you try to get the sidelight off. Pull it away from the car.
Undo the bulb holder, and you can change the bulb.

PS - As a side (excuse the pun) issue, one of the brightest/whitest bulb I could get was the PIAA Super White bulbs. And the size you need is W5W.

Have you had your electrics checked out by a dealer?
I had the same on a MY97 car I use to own. Found it was a dodgy connection on the bulb holder.
Worth taking them off for another look!
