Default standard blob alarm system reset?

My blob has had the battery off for some time and according to the alarm manual needs to have the code input on the keypad. I tried this but either did it wrong or the 4 digit code is wrong.... Can I bypass this or just reset the lot with like a master code?

Also Subaru tell me they have never heard of such a problem, despite it saying in the manual this can happen.

Happened to anyone else?
