I have just removed the main wiring loom as part of my project and I can't believe how heavy it is.

So with that in mind as well as the fact that I won't be using most of the accessories such as AC, interior lights, electric windows etc I'm thinking of doing a strip out.

I've already decided to remove the safety part of the loom, everything in yellow loom tape for air bags and such.

Has anyone done this before and would they recommend it as a worthwhile job or am I going to introduce issues? Any pointers to ease the changes would be appreciated.

There is a guy on 22b called John Stevenson who does custom looms which are a fraction of the weight and can be done to suit your needs, Most of the big powered scoobys are using them

 

GAz is this taking your old wiring loom in part ex or using your old wiring loom. Thanks for the reply though

 

To be honest i`m not 100% sure, I know he supplies new from scratch with new plugs/connectors etc but not sure if there is an option to reuse any of the existing one.
