Bulbs in Switches?

Hi, my rear fog lamp switch illumination has gone - bulb I would assume - as the life of bulbs on Subarus seem to be measured in hours!!! 
Now, I have been told that you cant buy just the bulb? any idea how to get these switches out of the front facia? anyone opened one up and replaced bulb??

I had to drop the lower dash down to push the switch out and unplug it. The bulbs come out w/ a 1/4 twist. Sometimes they fall out, other times you have to coax them out w/ a small screwdriver.

i took one to my local DIY electronics shop and got a very close match (had to chop some wires off them) cost 20p each

have you got any blanks next to it, they come out a bit easier so you can get behind the switch, otherwise it's a screwdriver job
