Question Hawkeye headlight problem.

Have HIDs so also the self-levelling. A couple of times recently the dipped beam has only projected about 3m in front of the car. It seems to happen after some spirited driving and heavy braking. As there is no manual level adjustment there is nothing I can do. Can't drive above about 40 due to lack of range of the lights.

Turning the ignition off and then back on does not reset them. They seem to be alright after the car is left over night.

Any suggestions about what to try? Anyone else had similar problems? What was the cure?
