Default Blobeye STi front fog lights?

Hi guys,

My 2003 Blobeye STi doesn't have fog lights as the cover houses the vent for the discs. However, on the dash, when I pull away the blanking plate where a front fog light switch would be, there is a connector with wires. Now, I should have taken a pic but there were about 4 or 5 wires. I plugged in a switch and the switch lights up when pressed. Is the wiring and relay there for front fog lights, does this mean it's easy to fit a set of front fogs, maybe either side of number plate?

the wiring is there for the fogs, one end behind the blanking cover as you have found and the other will be up behind the front bumper somewhere.
an original fog kit will plug straight in but will require a relay also.
you can buy the complete kit form subaru that includes switch, brackets and relay.
its a 10 minute fitting job as its plug and play.

Cheers guys, I'm thinking about fitting smaller rectangular fogs either side of number plate. Thoughts?

My car USED to have a pair of oval DRIVING lights mounted inside the lower grille cutout, either side of the numberplate.

I used these: http://www.screwfix.com/p/rawlplug-i...ck-of-20/40813

with the sharp tangs folded flat. I then herld them with a pair of mole grips until they tightened down hard. You can then remove the bolts they come with and use any M6 bolt: I chose M6 x20 stainless.

The lights were wired into the headlight main beam with a relay, which is easy to do.

If you buy decent lights, they DO make a lot of difference to main beams. Mine had H3 bulbs and needed ONE of the lower grille horizontal struts cut out at about 2" of length, invisible when the lights are in place.

Oh, and those fixings: go in to the bumper from BELOW the top of the grille. Then, when you remove the lights, the fixings are invisible

But as I said, FOGlights are pants.
