Cool Hawkeye STi High Beam to HID?

Anyone upgraded their high beam on Hawkeye to HID lights? I miss the lights on my RB5 which with the piaas was the best full beam i have ever had.

I see in America their is a kit for this upgrade

http://www.hidkitxenonlights.com/sub...preza-wrx-sti/

is their any such kit available in UK?

Link doesn't work.

You can fit HID aftermarket bulbs/kits to most lights, but projectors often lack space.

What would you be replacing?

I have repaired the link. I would be replacing the halogen bulbs in my 2006 STi high beam with HID bulbs.

Just wondered if anybody tried this yet. Maybe most are satisfied with low beam HID and halogen Hi Beam.

You could try it, single filament HID kits often give decent results.

DO buy a decent kit. Look for one that is plug and play, in case you have to swap back at any time: see below

And bear in mind that HID bulbs in lights designed for halogen bulbs are now illegal and an MoT fail.

The MOT failure part will only apply to dipped beam. The beam pattern is only checked on dipped and not on high beam. As the headlights on the 2006 STi already have washing and levelling and have HID in dipped, it shouldnt be a problem to upgrade the high beam from the high power halogens to HID.

However, as standard the headlights are quite good on full beam, and dipped is just amazing.

Ill get round to it .......... was hoping someone that might have done it already could join in.
