Reprogrammed key fobs setting off alarm
Since reprogramming my two key fobs using they key arm then disarm then keypad code (that code I can't remember off hand!)*92*2# then pressing both keys in turn they seem to both set the alarm off when locking the car, and sometimes when unlocking. I can still stop the alarm by pressing the remote again which keeps the car locked. I don't think it's the battery as it happens after a good run and didn't happen before resetting keys. Ive rung my dealership and they were baffled, and asked me to bring it in for a (chargeable) diagnosis.
It's a 05 blob wrx. Standard alarm with single remote button in the fob. I also reprogrammed the pin code at the same time but that doesn't set off the alarm. I've also tried reprogramming the keys using **pincode*92*2# and it has the same effect
Any thoughts?

Any thoughts anyone? Getting a bit desperate now.
The alarm goes off every time I lock the car and it's driving people mad - me included!
Subaru want to charge me god-knows-what for a diagnosis.
-I have driven it on a longer drive to ensure the battery is ok - and it's over 12v on the voltmeter.
-I've tried the *17856*91*n# with a key and **xxxx*91*n# with the pin code.
-The alarm appears to be going off when locking it, not unlocking.
-The alarm doesn't sound when arming and disarming using the pincode.
-I've tried reprogramming some distance away from home in case loads of wireless radio signals were interferring with the programming - same problem.
-Tried it with programming just one key, then the other, then both - same problem.

Thanks for the response scooby towers. I got 54 flashes on the dash led. Yes 54?!
No flashes on the keypad.
Going to see if a fault code reader picks anything up tomorrow.

SOLVED:
Finally fixed it! Went back to basics and simply disconnected the battery for 30 seconds, then once reconnected locked it - the alarm went off once and never since. I have also re-programmed two keys with it (as one was programmed before disconnecting) and no problems.
Not sure what was causing the problem - perhaps some memory within the ECU or alarm was scrambled and disconnecting the battery cleared it?
Tried the *17856*38# and after and get no flashes now - hopefully this solution will help if anyone else encounters the same weird problem!
Never got a fault code from it as the code reader from fleabay still hasn't arrived!
