Default Bgeye STI Headlight

The main beam light (HID) has stopped working on one of my lights. Are these easily available and easy to change? Is it just a bulb or is it a full unit?

Thanks in advance for any info

Had a side light go on mine mate, just a bulb gone. You can get them off ebay. I had to remove the whole light to change it though.

Is it an HID?
Is it in a projector, or a standard lens?

A DECENT bulb will be around £30, maybe more, you DO need to know what was fitted and is still present on the other side, as they come in different colour temperatures, where the LOWER the colour temperature, the brighter the bulb. Most OE are 4300K or 5000K, but a difference of 1000K WILL look odd.

If it IS an HID, you need to see if it's the bulb, (burner) or the ballast:
You will need access to both sides.
Place the WORKING bulb on the non-working side. If it lights, the problem WAS the bulb, buy a new bulb.

If it doesn't light, try the non-working bulb on the working side. If it lights, the problem was the ballast, buy a new ballast.

I haven't a clue whats fitted, bought the lights off someone on here. Do you have to take the lights out altogether to change the bulbs, seems like a lot of messing about

Kev,

Do they have an orange sticker on the cup at the back of the headlight, if they do they will be HID ones, I have a couple of D2S bulbs here from my last scoob, As said above if they are HID it could be the ballast not the bulb, If they are the Uk lights chances are its just the bulb that's gone as these are not HID units, Can be a bit fiddley to change but you can do it while they are still fitted to the car

Jus read it back and I think YOU need to re-read it

Uk lights were never HID units

Only JDM headlights are factory HID and these are the only ones with the orange warning sticker on the back
