WRX Neutral Position Switch Location?
It,s a pig to get at it sits on top of the gearbox i may be wrong but i,am sure that the box has to be droped i was told 60 quid to fix mine as it needed a smaller washer to lower it further as this was causing me to lose torque the mapper told me this. As said it was an easy fix

This is the thread I was looking at:-

The pic posted looks more likely to be the six speed?

IIRC not on top but on the nearside approx. half way along. You don't need to drop the box. is a pig to get to, especially to do back up. You can't use a socket for obvious reasons so 100 x 1/12 of a turn of the spanner
Easy job. Get the front up on some ramps. It's the rear most switch on the nearside of
the gearbox. Done it a couple of times now. 10 minutes max. I used an open end spanner.
Once you've cracked it, it should come out by hand.
Tip:- check the copper washer that comes with the switch. If it's a lot thicker than the original, stick the old one back in. There's no pressure in there so it should be OK.

Thanks for the replies gents, asked the local mobile mechanic about fitting it a while back and he said it wouldn't be a problem but he would need to know exactly where it was, hence the question.
I did mine on a wrx about 5 months ago. Easy enough to get to, just get the front up on stands. I did find, however, that both ends had a plug on them so I had to cut and splice a socket from the old one onto the new switch. Things like that only happen to me!
Mine was diag as fooked when my car was mapped last month, its currenty looped at the mo till i get a new one, the mapper said he just drops the rear gearbox support and that gives enough room to get in (6spd).
ps are non-gen sensors any good or should i get a gen subaru sensor?
cheers

I'd simply get a genuine one.....how much are they at the moment? I think mine was 27 quid but that was a few years ago....
