Speedo Swap
The speedo on my Bug WRX stopped working and I've picked up a set of late Blob WRX dials assuming that they where a straight swap - best bit being that the blob dials only had about 6000 more miles that my current bug set.
It is becoming clear that this may not be a straight swap; can anyone shed any light on whether these should be plug'n'play as I am getting the following issues with them:-
Speedo 'zeroes' at 25mph
Rev counter over reads idles at approx 2500rpm
ABS light stays on
Handbrake warning light stays on
Temp gauge reads in the red on start-up from cold
I have no issues with re-wiring if it is as simple as that or should I sell these on and get some more bug one - these look so much better
Thanks in advance
Jon

I thought they were a straight swap Jon like you. I've swapped mine for the sweeping clocks from a STI 10 hawkeye and had some of the same problems with mine. Paid £100 and had them fitted properly!
They had to do the rewire I got off here mate. Are you Clocks Faulty by chance!
I'm sure WRX Clocks from the Blob To Bug are the same. I know the hawk's aren't.
Sorry I'm not much help Buddy

These are facelifted blob so the same as the hawk ones I think. I need to get hold of a car of the same era to test them and see if they work - they were bought off a non-runner. The speedo and rev counter work fine, just need to be zeroed properly, the warning lights seem to be a common problem and the trip counter is reading accurately when I compare it to the readings on my bug dials (which I have fixed now so at least I know when I'm gonna get caught speeding)

Have you tried swapping the plugs over, The left and right ones, As when i fitted some in my bug the connections were the opposite way round and i had to trim a small ridge off the left hand connector to fit them, Handbrake needs earthing(I think) and the ABS light has an opposite signal so the polarity needs reversing.

They're the ones - the bug STI ones will still have the yellow needles and green illumination and I want to change to red needles and white illumination to match my gauges

Update...
Tried again today and nothing changed initially, but having been inspired by Cuprajake's speedo makeover I stripped the clocks down and plugged them in, ignition on and watched all the dials move off their zero stops. I then pulled off the needles and re-fitted them all at zero. Took the car for a spin and using my PSI3 to cross-check the readings the speedo and rev counter now work fine, temp gauge is fubarred
Need to swap the heat and fuel gauge out of my old dial set into the new one and swap over the facia and needles to match.
Final bit will be to do this fix as detailed by AndyGC8( of Richard Henry Motorsport fame)

Big thanks to Cuprajake (for inspiration) and Andy for the how to
Will get this lot finished after the MOT so as not to pressure myself
