Default Bugeye Blower weak

My in car blower appears to be well down on power - only the weakest flow of air even when the fan speed is set to max - anybody know how it's controlled, e.g. does the cars ecu have anything to do with it as I have syvecs?

Or is it all controlled by the A/C control panel?

Nothing to do with the ecu.

It could be a blocked pollen filter? Do the later cars have them? Or something up with the air trunking?
Or is the fan, or it's resistance unit, on the blink?

Drop down/remove the glove box - there is a pollen filter behind there. Check it out.

If you are not getting full fans (i.e it sounds like its on low speed) and the car has fully automatic a/c which has an 'auto' option on the fan speed control (i.e NOT the 1,2,3,4 manual a/c - these just have direct power for full speed, a resistor controls low speeds), the automatic a/c has a power transistor located next to the filter housing...it actually pokes into the trunking between the blower and heater box as it uses that air to keep it cool. Its possible that this has gone duff, however I wouldn't buy a new one until you can confirm it is duff (borrow one if you can) as teh problem could be elsewhere (i.e duff temp sensor or control etc).

Finally, if you are getting full fan speed, then as above check the ductwork and flaps, one to look for is the recirculation flap...its in the same area (under/behind the glove box). This sucks cabin air as opposed to outside air. If this is stuck open or the ouside air flap is stuck shut (or both shut) then blower performance will not be very good.
