Post Where to get Blobeye HID Driving light kit?!

I've looked through this and many other forums, searched ebay, google, Demon Tweeks, Scoobysport (only exhausts now), Prodrive and sundries, and HID driving lamps/WR1 kits/Hella is on everyone's fingertips... but nowhere can I find a decent kit, part number or link!

Does anyone have one of these for sale, or know where I can get one? I want to HID my headlights and the driving lights should really fit.

I'd need the brackets, bulbs, lamps, and obsidian black surrounds. Can find loads of threads and parts for 07+ and up to 02... nothing for 04/05

Any help much appreciated. I just got my Scooby recently, and went from always hating them and wanting an Evo to thinking it is pretty damn awesome

Self fitting not a problem. Just need the kit!

Cheers for any help.

EDIT:

Just to be clear, I am talking about the fog light bracket mounted driving lights, not DRL in the light clusters themselves.

AFAIK, I don't think anyone does them as a kit.

Does the car have foglights? If so, what size?

You could DIY some brackets, those holding my Hella1000FF HID lights onto my classic are really simple, flat alloy plates, with bolt holes and a hole cut in thje centre to clear the rear of the light, which passes through the bracket and is helf in place with four pieces of shaped steel per side and four self-tappers.

Having seen your replies to other threads, I thought you might reply

No, right now there is nothing. Just STi covers. I have read you can get the kit from Prodrive to just fit in? (Brackets and lamps, not sure about the surrounds though). however, I also saw your post on their brackets!

The tough thing is most of those posts are pretty old so the places aren't around any more. I basically just want to pop my covers off and install some HID driving lights, nothing too big (I think the 1000FFs are pretty big?). I guess I could mock up brackets - just would prefer the whole kit!

Didn't the WR1 come with these? One of those sets would be fine...

Cheers for the reply!

Thanks dunx - that's pretty much it. However, it says you can't have hell lights on an 04/05?

I tried finding this on the UK Prodrive site...

Do you know how I get hold of the surrounds to go around these if I buy them? As in these kind of things:

But possibly for a smaller driving light (I don't really want huge fog lamps, 5" is better than 7" for me!)

Cheers

I would imagine that someone out there makes those covers, probably from fibreglass.

The Hella 1000FF lights are not far off the same diameter as classic foglights, but stick out further.

With lights, size does matter. Yes, you can get 90mm Hella HIDs, as fitted to the P1, but a 90mm HID is never going to give the light output of a160mm light.

When I was younger we tried this using Cibie Oscars, (7" lights), and Cibie Super Oscars, (9" light).

The Super Oscars were noticeably brighter.

At that price I'd expect them in the kit ! Or that they are a std. Subaru part.

My bug has a genuine Prodrive Hella kit, these are larger and you wouldn't like them. The smaller light units are made by PIAA are seen in your photo.

You would have thought that it would be a standard subaru item!

Thanks guys. To be fair, I will upgrade to HID anyway so I don't need ridiculous fogs... more just driving lamps for day usage so either 90 or perhaps a little bigger would suit me. I'll look into it. Shame there is no widespread kit out there to drop lamps in...

dunx - those look nice, but yes they are a little large don't get me wrong, if I was offroading I'd love em but I can't justify using mahoosive lamps like that for daylight running. Having said that... I wouldn't say not to a genuine prodrive hella kit either, but I can't find one ANYWHERE. Halogen only for the 04/05 from what I can see :S

HID retrofit on mine, as the rear shells are plastic. Most bulb fittings are available on ebay.

P.S. It's darkness that makes these worth more than an extra 100 bhp !
