Default Changing BlobEye Dash lights to Hawkeye?

I really like the red dials on the Hawkeye dash, but my BlobEye has green dials. Now is it the actual dials that are red or the blubs behind the dash? How hard would it be to change them over to Hawkeye style?

AFAIK, it's filters in the instrument cluster. The bulbs are clear.

Now the problem is that secondary school physics will tell you that a filter only passes light of one colour. So if you try and put, say a red tinted bulb into a green filter, very little light passes.

Others have found this, the dash lights enmd up really dim.

You COULD try opening up the instrument cluster and repalcing all the filters, assuming you can get the red one, but then the instruemnbts themselves are MADE to reflect green in yours, and may still appear dim.

I have in a Punto. Usually a bit risking because of the potential of snapping the needle.

So does anyone know for sure if there is a filter behind the dash instruments that causes the green display or not?...if so can this be removed and replaced with a red filter, or is it the bulbs that are indeed coloured (green or red)??

Also what device on the hawkeye STi causes the needles on the dash to rev up and down when the ignition is first turned on, and would it be possible to retro fit this to a Blobeye??
