Not charging / Wiring Fault
Hi,
My wife's WRX was charging perfectly, but then the std Subaru alarm unit burned out, smoke coming from behind the dash and the alarm siren was going off, so I removed the alarm and bypassed the Immoboliser by putting the original wires back together. (You would have thought they would have cut the loom so the wires were not going to meet up if the alarm was bypassed by a potential car Theif.)
anyway the car starts and Run's however, the volt meter show's the car is NOT charging now, so i removed the alternator from mine, as i am not using it, and it's not charging with that one fitted.
The battery light on the Dash comes on with the ignition on, and goes out when you start the car.
The battery is now down to just under 10v so will not start.
I have looked under the dash for any signs of burnt wiring but do not see any.
Has anyone had this before? anywhere i should be looking ?
Thanks
Derek
