whats this bl**dy noise????
Right my car has been up on axle stands for a couple of weeks whilst i refurbed the brakes/ new discs/ pads and added some new wheels...
In that time the battery went dead resulting in me having to jump start it yesterday...
the only thing is, now when i turn the car on I get this very loud beeping noise from inside the car untill the engine starts???? Its driving me nuts!!!!
I have prosport stepper guages, blitz turbo timer and cobra alarm fitted (but there was another beep coming from somewhere at the front which sounded like my low battery warning with this??? it has now gone.)
Any help or ideas very welcome fellas????
Cheers
Andy

Some cars have an alarm panel - one of my classics had it in the glove box I think, but the rest have had it instead of the coin tray in the bottom right of the driver foot well.
You can put codes in to make the cars security do things like I have made mine lock the doors when I turn on the ignition. Thought maybe the ECU had reset options here?

Quoted from my Subaru alarm operating instructions:
"Enable/Disable Safety-Lock Feature (Options 4 and 5 on the keypad)
If all the doors, bonnet and boot are closed and you turn on the vehicles ignition all the dooors and boot will single lock. Unlike double-locking, the doors can be opened internally at any time. When you turn off the ignition all the doors and boot will automatically unlock.
To stop the dors and boot locking on a single occasion, for example you wish to start the engine and then vacate the vehicle, perhaps to scrape ice from the windows, open a door and turn on the vehicles ignition, after one second the vehicles hazard lights will give a single flash. It is then safe to close you door and "safety-lock" will not lock you doors until the next time you turn the vehicles ignition off then on again.
This is from the instructions of a MY03 car, hope it works, hope it helps!

- To enable "safety-lock" turn on the vehicles ignition, give the radio transmitter buton a quick press, type 4 on the keypad and immediately turn off the ignition.
- To disable "safety-lock" turn on the vehicles ignition, give the radio trasmitter button a quick press, type 5 on the keypad and immediately turn off the ignition.
"Safety-lock" is now disabled and will not operate your door locks."

It sounds like they are wired on a switched power source and the gauges are losing their memory, There should be 2 wires to positive at the back of the boost gauge 1 for ignition switch and 1 for permanent power (usually off the dash clock) try swapping these over with each other.
also, did you keep your finger on the silver button whilst turning the key throughout the whole sweep start up sequence?
hold silver button in
turn key
keep pressing button in till sequence has finished
turn off key
depress button
turn key on again

not sure really as they sound like they have held their memory before the battery went dead.
have you seen my edited post about the button/ignition sequence? try this 1st if it wasn't the way you tried it the first time pal.
i have an instruction manual somewhere so i'll try and dig it out for you mate

It's your Prosport Oil Pressure gauge warning - as the engine is not running you have no oil pressure therefore the warning alarm.
Press and hold the button on the front when you turn the engine on for the duration of the sweeping ceremony. this will cancel the alarm until next time you disconnect the battery or turn it back on using the same method.

Its the prosport gauges. Hold all the gauge buttons down whilst you turn on the ignition and keep them held down until the start up routine has finished. Next time you start the car they won't make a noise.
The noise happens because they lost their settings when the battery went flat.

Each gauge has its own buzzer. The noise is simply the default setting when the ignition is turned on (god knows why). Unless you turn the buzzer off on all three gauges then you'll still hear a noise. Its nothing to do with there being a fault or low pressure or anything.

Thanks to everyone for their help - all sorted now!
Turns out all 3 of them were ON, so followed sequence above (hold button, car on, wait through sequence, turn car off, THEN release button) and now all good cheers.
Many thanks
