Default electric problems, stereo, heater etc

hello,

I have a MY95 impreza STI RA.

The heater in the cabin works occasionally. What can that be?
The light in the roof does not work, neither the cd-player.

Everything has been working before.

I have checked all the fuses and they are fine. I have also checked that there is power in the roof where the bulb is. The bulb is ok.

Does anybody know what can be wrong? any relays or something that controll the heater? where is that then?

Hope anybody knows! Thanks.

If it's anything like my bug I checked all of the under dash fuses and was stumped only to find another fuse under the bonnet

As above: sometimes they LOOK fine, but aren't. Or use a fuse tester.

Hmmmmmmmmm, not imported into the UK officially, so no-one will have a UK version to do a translation

Best of luck.

today after taking of the battery poles and cleaning them a little the light in the roof started to work. But its just working sometimes, and its very weak. could it be a grounding problem? the other problems are stil there.

It sounds like corrosion on a chassis earth connection. You need to methodically go through them all cleaning with sandpaper both the crimps and the body panel they bolt to so they are shiny. Get yourself some copper based grease and smear some over the bare metal then bolt together. The grease will prevent further corrosion and as it has bits of copper in it will help conductivity. Don't be too shy about applying it you can always wipe any excess off once tightened. Also clean the battery connections and smear with vasalene once cleaned to help prevent corosion at the battery terminals.

sandpaper and paste did not help! now what???? it helped like 1% as the cd-player now actually had some light for a second or two.
