I've replaced the bulbs in the G/F's car with some +80% and they made a BIG difference, but we're out in the sticks with very little road lighting, so i was thinking of fitting some additional driving/spot lights.

Just want to fit them onto the main beam. I'm not electrical minded and this will be a first. Only thing i've done before now is add a horn on the STi.

Is it easily done? Anyone recommend some good lights (that don't cost the earth)

The cibie oscars fitted on mine are also wired to the main beam,but as i use 100w bulbs i have a relay fitted by the battery terminal.,not really that hard to do and worse case ,a half decent auto electrician wont charge you much to wire them up.

I have fitted some Hella FF1000's with a cheap (CHEAP being the key word here) Xenon set.Made a mounting bracket myself, and job done.

Wired them to come on with the High beams, and have been ok for over 3 years.
However, prices on the 1000FF's seem to have gone throught the roof.I had mine for less then 120€ shipped, for a complete set with wiring, relay and fuses, now they seem to be way more.

Ensure you wire them up with a relay; take a new, fused, live from the battery and use the main beam live to switch the relay - a scotch lock will splice that nicely without cutting the factory loom.

If you don't fit a separate switch then effectively the white and green wires become one and that will be spliced from you hi-beam
