Electric mirror motor current draw
Hi All,
Anyone have an idea of what sort of current a typical electric mirror motor would draw? I'm adding (OEM) electric mirrors to my MX5 but the wiring isn't fitted as standard so I need to buy and install something up to the job. Any recommended sources of wiring of this type - perhaps on 20m reels so I can get enough colours but not end up with miles. CPC/RS etc seem to do 100m reels which is going to be a lot when I've got 5+ colours.
Cheers.

Low current. I did some on my classic UK car, and used these: http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.e...e/thinwall.php to supply my cable.
I measured that used on the mirrors thmselves, (they came with short wires terminating in multi-connectors), and ordered 32/020 which is 1mm sq and capable of 16.5A, ref 16 on the page above. They do cut lengths of anything over 1m.
Note that that site ALSO sells multi-connectors and pins if you need to match up, and can't get any from a scappy like I did, and heat-shrink tubing to finish the job if you have to solder.
Remember to add VAT and P&P though.
