Default Converting a classic to remote locking?

How easy is it? Does it just need a solenoid like on the passenger door fitted to the driver's door?
Then what?
I'd love to be able to lock/unlock with a key fob.

yep mate thats all, providing you've got an alarm to power it thats all you need to give you remote locking, you can pick up universal ones for about a tenner usually

Will a solenoid from the passenger door fit, or do I HAVE to find a driver's door one?

And by, "universal one", do you mean an alarm?

I assume he means door lock motor. Mine has a universal one on the drivers door. P/S motor won't fit I don't think.

a universal motor is all thats needed then link it up to an aftermarket alarm (depending which one you have) and you're away, if you're not sure i'd say take it to a professional as it can be a bit tricky lining up the bars on the motor to get it reliably opening and closing the door every time

Thanks for that. It's one of a couple of projects for Autumn.
