FOG LIGHT SWITCH BACKLIGHT BUGEYE
Hi all,
as stated above my rear fog light switch no longer lights up with the rest of the dash, the switch itself works fine as does the amber light to let you know the rear fogs are on ,can you replace the bulbs in these or would it be a new switch?
Cheers

Yes, you can replace it. The bulbs are a tiny wire-ended 12V job from Maplins, around £1.30 each.

You need to take the switch out, disconnect, take it in the house and, working on a table over a clean sheet of paper, carefully take it apart.
Once you can see the bulb, it removes by unfastening the wire ends which are twisted through the little bulb holder, you'll see what I mean once it's apart. Tweezers and sharp scissors help.
The sheet of paper is to help you see any springs etc that drop out.
It's NOT as hard as it sounds, trust me.

Alcazar is right, as he's one of the many electrical guru's on here.
One thing I would change though, is i'd use these bulbs: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=25545
The bulbs that illuminate green, tend to have a small coloured "condom" on them. Its fairly difficult to remove, and harder to put back on. If you get the coloured bulbs, you won't have that problem, and they light up slightly better.
