I seem to be getting water in my back light cluster, (MY97 uk wagon) tried to get the light off to investigate but wouldn't come off. I unscrewed all the nuts and still no joy, thought I'd best not just pull it off. Any help appeciated.

Marc,
Just a thought, you may or may not have found a nut on the side of the lamp, if you didn't find it and remove, if you did, you'll find that the lamp unit is probably stuck in with mastic stuff and will be a bit tricky to get off, just remember that Impreza's are made with tin foil, ie, they bend easy!

Unhappy

Thanks Ron, not sure if I found the nut and it's a bit dark now, if mastik has been used that'll be a nightmare, may just have to mop it out through the bulb holes!!!!!

Mark,

You will need to reseal them with Mastik or bathroom sealant.

To clear the water out, you can use a hair dryer directed into the hole for the bulb - they mist up and then the water evaporates...

Thanks

also depends on what type of light you have got if you got the type where the edge between the top of the indicator and the bottom of the red lens meet curve in to each other put a small bead of clear silicone in this groove as it tends to let water in there if you got the type where the said join is flush i.e no groove just a flat surface then you will have to be generous with the mastic on the back of the light

hope that all makes sense!
