Default alternator from new age Sti/WRX on classic My00 Turbo - Compatible??

Hi guys,

As the title states can i fit an alternator from a new age sti/wrx onto my my00 turbo.

My alternator is with the 3 pins and has part number 23700AA390. I found a 23700AA230 one from a 1999 turbo but not sure if it'll fit

Does anyone know which other part numbers will do and are similar to my 23700AA390 ??

Thanks in advance guys!

Mike

Had a failed sti alternator (new-age) last year and fitted a classic sti 1 in its place, same 3 plug fitment and it threw up the engine check light. Had to fit 1 from a new age as its something to do with its charging rates.

right! Not good then.

What about 1999 turbos on a my00 classic? Anyone know if that will do?

the 1999 alternator is 23700AA230
my my00 one is 23700AA390

Argh!!! Bloody numbers!

Cheers

Not compatable between the classic and new age due to the fact that the new age have a computer chip in there that decides when to charge your battery (smart charging), so if it cant do that then it will kick out a cel or the likes.
Anyway a classic one is far cheaper
