H7 bulb question

Which is the positive and negative prong on a H7 bulb?

Ive tried wiring it up to the car battery and the bulb comes on no matter what wire goed to where.

Don't think it really matters: bulbs, unlike LEDs, will work if current passes in either direction.

Why do you need to know, btw?

Done a retro-fit on my WRC-style bugeye headlights and the projectors are H7 Xenons.

Does the bulb connector fit in both directions? If not, just find which of it's terminals is live and work from that?
