engine wiring

hi, Im planning on re-wiring some of the engine loom due to water damage and was just wondering what type of wire i should use. any help is much appreciated.

the easiest way is buy a wiring loom........ And I just happen to have a 95 MY UK spec wiring loom

ye i know but im also wanting to add to the loom aswell so i still need to know what type of wire to use?
