Default morette light unit deteriorating (mot?)

just had my car MOT'd - examiner told me the inner light unit is deteriorating. Anyone know where I can buy a new one ??? -- I believe it is a 5 inch Cibie (the website selling them posted on here before appears to have gone )

Unfortunately they are no longer made. They are now about as rare as hen's teeth A search MIGHT come up with one, but I doubt it. E-bay, or someone scrapping a pair of Morettes is your best bet.

Alternatively, go the HID retrofit route, putting HID projectors into a crystal light unit

I reckon that's the way I'm going to go

thanks for the reply - ebay it is then!

do you happen to know if this could be a possible MOT failure? ( i think maybe not as it is not the Main light unit ??)

I think you could pull the fuse for the inner lights, (it's probably on, or near, the relay feeding them), and as the outers have both main, and dip, there will be no problem.
