Default type R wind screen washers

Hi

I think i have a small problem with my windscreen washers, car is my00 Type R, when i pull the stalk to use front washers/wiper no water comes out but wipers work, when i push button on end of stalk washers/wiper both work, all the motors seem to work and washed out bottle, so no blockages. Would like to sort this out, its one of those annoying little faults. Any ideas?

Thanks Tristan

Are you sure it's supposed to wash when you pull the stalk? I thought it only did that when you pressed the end? Pull was for a flick wipe?

Pretty sure mine is, UK classic with duff big-end bearings.

Yep, pulling the stalk is for a quick wipe, press the button for spray. It's the same on all Subaru's old, new, leggy's etc.
