petrol light flashing

low petrol light has started flashing any ideas? there is fuel in it but constantly flashes
any advice welcome

it sounds like it could be your sender unit sticking in the petrol tank

would that make it flash? normally just a constant light when low fuel

or maybe,.....you have gone past the point of being low on fuel and now you have **** ALL FUEL ? in other words, dangerously low. a simple fix to this problem is,...............put some fuel in it maybe ?
