Default Bugeye HID problem

Hi,
I have recently changed my standard wrx bugeye headlights for a set of JDM HID headlights.
I got them fitted and wired up, but when i turn the HID lights on the flicker like a strobe light, they seem to come on for a second or two then both start flickering.
Can anyone tell my what might be at fault? be it faulty bulbs or a problem with the ballasts?
Also where to source replacement parts.
I am hoping this wont be anything major as i only just bought these lights of ebay.
Many thanks
G.

I'd say faulty ballasts, but I'm no expert, mine are from BOB'5, and all three kits have been faultless !

Have you grounded the ballasts straight to the chassis?

I have a JDM WRX with Hids, they do flicker on start up, a bit like a strip light tube, but soon settle down, could well be a ballast problem, try Scoobybits or jap performance parts.co.uk HTH
