Question

How do you KNOW the batteries in the key are fine?

IF they are, can you take the blipper apart, clean the button contacts, with a little fine emery, or similar, and adjust the springs so that good contact is made, then broken?

Is it an aftermarket alarm? As far as I know, the import classics didn't have remote central locking as standard. Just a plain key. Is it a Sigma fob?

I'd try changing the batteries in the key first, then have a look to make sure all the fuses are OK. Mine stopped working and it was down to the interior light fuse I think.
