Default Classic boot 'pop' using alarm?

Just had a clifford fitted, and realised i forgot to get him to do a solenoid in the boot so the remote can be used to pop it open. However after doing a bit of investigation into doing it myself, im hearing that you cant put an electric pop into it as it uses a cable rather than rods?

can anyone advise!

Depends how much force is required to pull the cable, as u should be able to use the same principle as for the door rods, where you use the clamps onto the cable instead of the rods maybe.

how does the remote work tho?...is there a button specific to the boot?...otherwise it'll just pop every time you unlock the doors

......dont see why the effort too pull a cable should be much more than the effort to pull a rod - shirley it'll work?

aint that the truth! yeah the clifford alarm has a boot pop button, you fit a solenoid into the boot to pull the catch and then wire it to the alarm negative out so its independant of the locking.

Im still not convinced a solenoid can pull a cable surely someone has got one fitted on their classic!

I did one years ago using an old generic central locking motor attached to the bootlock. Needed some bodging with some rods to get it to work, but it did the job.
