Bob's slimline hids mounting position for ballast on Blobeye wrx 53 plate.
Just had a quick look under the bonnet for a suitable mounting position for the ballasts that came with the hids. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of room. Could anybody send me pictures of where they have mounted the ballasts on their wrx blob’s. I know the sti's are slightly easier because they have no front fog light’s. Any other help on best installation practise is greatly appreciated.

Not sure if it helps, but I fitted the balasts underneath the headlamps just after the bumper beam and secured them there. Required lots to come off the car mind, but well out of the way. I know its a bugeye but I use a blobeye bumber beam

For each balast, I bolted one side down, and used a plastic removable clip on the other side. I did this as there was no hand access to fit a nut and bolt in the location I chose. So only 4 holes to drill. Got the stainless nuts and bolts off ebay, and had a spare couple of clips from changing my grill.
As my HIDs sat in metal bracket 'cradles', I used a cable tie to keep everything secure to stop excessive movement. Not sure if that applies to your particular type.

Yep, oil cooler with remote filter sitting behind it. Removed both front fogs as I didn't need them; one to allow oil cooler flow, the other to allow a cold air feed to bring air into the engine bay via the front wing.
