Default RAD FANS NOT WORKING.. HELP PLEASE

Lads i had this posted up as what i thought could of been a simtec ecu swap problem but i have that ruled out,
basically the car can go right to top of temp gauge when standing still for while and neither rad fan comes on, its a 00 v6 type r. so far this is what ive sort of ruled out,
i put its own ecu back in and still no fans,
put a different temp sensor in and still no fans, i beleive there is only one temp sensor?
checked fuses and they seem to be ok,
checked relays, took covers off them and got them to open and close with current applied,
checked the block connector going to rad when car was over half way on temp gauge and had no live?
there is 2 relays per fan and i am finding it hard to understand the way it works, as far as i know they worked before with last guy, i bought car as none runner so bit of a project, fans are all in pmo. any tips or suggestions?

Have you checked the wiring along the bottom of the radiator - has been known to get damaged/burnt by the headers causing all sorts of problems.

Check the fans are free to rotate. It's not unknown for fans to sieze up when they're not used for a long time.
Check the fans actually work by testing them with 12V.
Check the wiring to the fans.
There may be 2 or more temperature sensors. The most likely are for the temp gauge, ECU and fans.
Has any aircon been removed. If this was fitted, using it runs the fans whether the engine temp needs them or not. If it's been removed, the wiring may not have been linked out properly. That could also explain the extra relays.

Hope this helps.

John

John that could be a possibility, i didnt want to complicate things with my project story, but here it goes, i bought the 00 typer as a standard car, i had a 4dr 00 impreza with a 400bhp set up in it, i transferd full engine into the 2dr from the 4dr, but the 400bhp engine had a reversed inlet so i hav no aircon pump, and as the engine was built in a 00 uk turbo, it may not be wired for aircon. so basically i currently hav a 00 jap type r with an engine that prob has a uk engine harness, and has no aircon pump on it. but i would have thought that this would have no effect on main fan?
