Morette high beam issues
Hi,
I'm new to the site, I have recently bought a bugeye wrx with morette headlights. I have fitted a HID kit on dipped beam but it seems the high beam standard bulbs are not working properly.
The high beam, does not come on at all, if I flick the high beam switch the HID's just flicker on dipped beam.
If dipped beam are off when I flick the high beam switch the dipped beam flashes on. I'm not sure what the issue is, has anybody any ideas??
Could it be a fuse or do u reckon there is a wiring issue??
Cheers,
Sem
p.s had a look on search facility but there doesn't seem to be any similar posts!!

If you can get hold of a multimeter it would become a simple problem of what goes where....
It's very hard to diagnose from here LOL, Sorry !
dunx
P.S. Scoobs use a permanent live feed and a (separate) switched earth to operate each light. HTH.

Cheers Dunx, got a multimeter. I remember when I fitted it a couple of the connections came loose. I probably put them in the wrong plug lol.
Just have to go back to basics, Thanks for the advice mate!!

ive had this problem
hi, ive just seen your post so i signed up to help you sort this out.
Ive had my scoob for 6 weeks, i also had this problem, as you cant see much of the back of the lights, i took them out and started probing with my test lamp, there should be 2 relays on the o/s/f headlamp and another on the n/s. One of the relays had gone down so it wasnt swithcing hence the main beam gettin no power.. simple as removing and replacing with a new relay!
Hope this helps and point you in the right direction.. theres also a 15amp fuse that feeds these.. check this before you take the lights out...

Thanx everyone for your help. Looked behind the lights and one of the high beam wires had corroded thru where it goes into the relay. Some botched crimping and spade connecting later job s done and everything is good!!

Could have been wired wrong? The Scoob wiring is switched earth, and is notorious for producing strange effects if wired wrong.
I'd be inclined to have a look and compare the wiring with some you can see on here, and on NASIOC.

Had it looked at yesterday and all that seems wrong is a ballast, will chnage that and see if that's causing the issue
