Default A quick alternator question

Im normally quite good with electrical problems but this ones got me.

Ive been having trouble with flat batteries, first i checked earths and tightness of connections, then power cap was tested in sound system to make sure it wassnt that doing it. Remote amp wire is dead when stereo is off proving its not amps draining it. I removed second battery to take this out of equation but to no avail, still within 5 days full battery dead. The battery is new and ive exchanged it for another because my first thought was it might be dud.

The only thing that is getting to me is the voltage read out from the alternator, normally on all other cars the voltage when engine is on is 14.4 volts, but on my scooby its 13.8, is this correct ? doesnt seem to be but im unsure maybe it is ?

The diodes are dead, swap the alternator and it's sorted IMHO

Theory is that if it doesn't go off into "sleep mode" then it drains the battery...

If you can insert a multimeter between Live terminal and the red power lead you can measure the current with everything turned off.
