Default Bug HIDs

I have a 2002 JDM Sti bugeye wagon.

The headlights are HIDs (i think ) as in they take a second or two to warm up and main beam is on a seperate bulb.

However, the lefthand side bulb flickers and will eventually go off completely, but will turn back on again.... Do the bulbs wear out or does it sound more like a connection problem??

I am still quite new to the subaru scene so thank in advance for your info.

Swap the bulbs over, from one side to the other to identify the problem.

To explain what BOB means, your problem could be the bulb, the ballst or a poor connection.
I'd check all connections AFAP first, then do as BOB says and swap the bulbs. If the problem persists, same side, it's the ballast. If the problem moves sides, it's the bulb.

If the problem goes away, you did check those connections PROPERLY didn't you??

Follow wires back from the "bulb" to a (once) shinny box (the ballast unit) which is then connected to the original loom ( and possibly to the battery via a relay !)

Check connections and if access is o.k. swap ballast units.
