battery flat ????
have been messing with the dash recently due to faulty mileometer and having not used the car for a while ( JDM Classic WRX MY95 Turbo) I had to jump it via my daily driver.
It started fine and I ran it for 10 mins before turning it off.
I got in today and when the key was turned to the first click the RED Main beam light symbol was lit. The main beam lights were not on tho'!
I tried to turn it over but the battery was flat at just 7.56 Volts.
I hooked it up to the Bimmer for a jump start and managed to get 11.56 volts into the battery but had to disconnect the clock fuse cos it seemed to be restricting the charge around 9v. As soon as the fuse was removed the volts flew into the battery upto a max of 11.56V.
unfortunately it still wouldn't turnover and I got dead mans click for a couple of secs as a relay chattered.
I reckon not enough amps despite the volts going in but would you say the battery was fubar?!
The red symbol may be a red herring as it never lit before and I have not done any wiring to the dash just simply looking at replacing the dash clocks.
Any help appreciated, perhaps you'bve had similar ?
