Hi, I have a 96 uk spec wrx.

The speedo is innacurate, it jumps up and down all of the time and will not read accurutaly above 40mph, also the mileage has given up completely.......

What do you think could be wrong with it?

A 96 uk spec wrx doesn't exist the uk ones are turbo 2000

I've had the mileage go on my 93wrx import and the most likely suspect in my case is a worm drive.

In the case of the speedo a quick check of the cable may be worth while.

as the speedo works be it poorly,but the mileage does not i would suspect the speedo head is knackered.

i would also change the cable aswell as that could be causing the fluctuation in needle

I was told that uk spec cars don't have a spedo cable, they are electronic......

i think early models are cable driven and the newer are electronic
