Default 1996 JDM Legacy GT-B TT Central Locking Wiring

Hi all,

I have an alarm system that I want to install on the car that can lock and unlock the car remotely.

Ive been messing about for days now with the central locking.

Although my car has keyless entry installed from the factory, when I bought it, it did not come with the remote. Seems to be a common thing.

I have since located the keyless entry control box (CDL), this is found just to the left of the glove box, need to take glove box out to get to it. Its also a 12 pin type and not an 8 or a 10 pin type. Still made by Alpha Co Japan.

I have also taken the drivers door panel off and taken a look at the wiring in there.

The drivers door does have a solenoid in it, a lot of Subaru's seem to have solenoids in all doors except the drivers door. Obviously for keyless entry to work the drivers door must have its own solenoid.

With a multi meter I have found that there are 2 wires that seem to be the ones I need to tap into, one gives 12v when locked, and the other gives 12v when unlocked. They both show a reading of 0v when the lock or unlock procedure has finished, so it basically gives a short pulse of 12v and then goes off again.

The wires in question are a Red with Green stripe, and a Light Green wire, I am 90% certain that these are the two wires that need to be connected to this alarm system that I have.

I also found today when playing that there is a White wire that gives a constant 12v when the doors are locked but a constant 0v when unlocked.

Anybody have any ideas about this keyless entry system?

I dont want to go connecting things up and blowing this control box up. $250 for a new one.

Cheers

Great attitude, sure you will be an asset to this 'this place'

There are some dedicated Legacy forums that a quick google would have found. Just because someone doesn't have the answer for you is no reason to slate here....

Infact I think I will post how its done.

No credit to me though, it was a member of UKLegacy.com that helped me.

So thanks again to logicarvs.

Heres how to do it.

Cut the white inside the drivers' side kick panel. Connect the end from the door to pin 87a.

Connect the other end of the white wire (car side) and the lock wire from the alarm to pin 30.

Connect the u/lock wire from the alarm to pin 85 and a fused +12v to pin 86.
This assumes the switching wires from the alarm give a -ve pulse.

If the locking on the alarm works the wrong way round switch the locking wires from the alarm. <---------- I had to do this so might be same for other GTB's

The alarm system that I wired to the car used a -ve pulse.

Hope that help someone.

Cheers
