Default ALB (ABS) Light

My Anti Lock Brakes warning light is on, is there a way of resetting it without paying a dealer?

So was mine this morning.

Not anymore though as I fixed the problem. I hope anyway!!

If the light is on you will probably find the ABS doesn't work too.
(Find a quite road and brake hard to test it.)

Chances are your ABS light is on because there is a problem with one of the sensors.

Unplug the front ABS sensors, the drivers side one is below the master cylinder, the other one at the front is about the same position on the other side. If you measure the resistance of the sensors you will find they are about 1100-1200 ohms, mine were anyway.

The rear ones unplug under the back seat, again one one each side. They are under plastic flaps near the sill. I found one of mine unplugged.

Not sure why, I can only think where I was cleaning the back seat yesterday, when I leaned in my weight (all 80kg of it) on the edge of the seat it transfered to the plug via the plastic cover and unplugged the sensor (drivers side rear), Very weird. Anyway plugged the sensor back in and the ABS light went out.
