Most people are working the other way around, I know I did!

I got an adapter harness from George at chaio fang imports to allow me to fit JDM HIDS to my standard Bug. The best option may be to try and get some kind of adapter loom made up so you can fit standard Bug eye lights for the test. You'll only need it for the Main beam/Dip and will need to convert the feed to the HID ballast and the Main beam to H4 connector.

Standard bug lights are cheap on ebay or maybe if you know somebody local you could borrow a set for the test.
