I have fitted the driving lights with a relay which I tried to feed the relay coil from the live side of the main beam wiring,but I am getting 12v pos from the headlight main beam in dipped as well as main beam,so the driving lights come on as soon as the head lights are switched on.

Is the relay for the main beam switched on the negative side of the lights or am I missing something?

Yep. Switched negative for some odd reason.
