should the rear light clusters have a fog light in each one ?
i've got a MY99 Uk turbo, i had to put the fog lights on today and noticed that the right hand side was the only one that was on.

i know that many other cars have only one rear fog, is this the same with the impreza.

Thanks
Kevin

From a certain year onwards, fogs light went to one only to avoid them being confused with brake lights.

Don't ask me which year, but I'd guess an MY99 would be included. If it wasn't so cold, I'd go outside and look on my MY99

I've bought spare bulbs for my "non-working" foglight before now! Doh.

But I don't like that unsymmetrical look. And as for confusing them with brakelights, surely:
1) every car to have high-level brakelight would be better
or 2) you just confuse the one foglight with one-working-and-one-not-working brakelights
and 3) if in a stream of traffic, say on a motorway, chances are you will only see the offside foglight anyway, thus confusing it with a brakelight again(, slamming on your anchors and causing a pile-up).

Maybe rear fogs should be a different colour? Or treat the cause, not the symptom - eradicate fog!!
