Hi Guys,

Is it easy(ish) to fit a set of Electric Folding Mirrors from a JDM Newage to a MY05 STi Type UK?

Would the main looms already be in place?

I know i will have to replace the mirror units themselves with JDM folding versions, and also the drivers side control panel to incorporate the switch... would the rest already be in place to plug in?

Would be nice if Subaru had installed the same wiring to all markets, but from previous threads I have seen, this is highly unlikely.

I say it would be nice as I have some JDM mirrors to fit to my 2005 UK STI

I can get the switch in the UK, but the top panel/plate for the drivers door has to come from Japan.......unless of course someone happens to be breaking a JDM car and I can get the bits required.

I also thought about having the mirrors fold out when the ignition is turned on and then fold in when it is turned off, but from what I can gather, the folding function actually operatea by reversing the polarity on the supply to the fold motor......this makes it more difficult to rig up an automatic system.

It's do-able of course.....everything is!!
